Air Canada reached tentative cost-cutting agreements in May and June with union negotiators that will decrease its annual labor bill by way of an estimated C$1.1 billion ($8028 million) if ratified from the memberships. AC did not provide breakdowns for each workgroup, although savings from mainline union employee were present at C$766 million and those at AC Jazz at C$110 million. A further C$120 million will be realized from nonunionized and management ranks, while realignment of the airline into a smaller network is rely uponed to save C$110 million.
